Every year on the weekend after Labor Day, the community of Pelham, New
Hampshire celebrates "Old Home Day", a New Hampshire tradition. Actually,
"Old Home Day" was officially recognized by Proclamation in the New Hampshire State
Legislature in 1913. The Governor of New Hampshire in 1899, Frank
W. Rollins, was concerned about the decline of the small town and decided
that the communities of New Hampshire should set aside a time for residents,
both past and present, to re-unite to keep the towns alive. Well, former
Governor Rollins' idea was indeed a vision that lives on in this small but
growing town.
This event has been sponsored and coordinated by the proud and dedicated
members of the First Congregational Church for
101 years. In 2008 we
will host the 102nd Anniversary Pelham Old Home Day on Saturday, September 6th.
Please feel free to explore the old-fashioned New England traditional
